When someone in your life dies, your world is profoundly altered. This is true even when the relationship is complicated. It can be hard to navigate your range of emotions and your new world even as you feel the empty space left by the person. You want a memorial service that reveals the essence of the person who has passed and the deep mystery of their life, regardless of the nature of your relationship.
As your celebrant, I will work with you to create a memorial service that captures the core and complexity of a life that has touched and shaped many. Because this person was a unique soul, so must the ceremony be unique, a true reflection of a person’s mark on this earth and on the hearts of those they knew.
To craft the memorial service I will meet with you at a place of your choice – whatever is most comfortable for you. In this time of pandemic, we will most likely meet via Zoom. We will have a conversation about your loved one, talking about what moved him; what brought joy and tears; what special mark did she make on her family, community, the world; what was difficult about them; what you loved about them.
I will create a ceremony that reflects what you share about the deceased, and includes the people, the readings, and the eulogies that you choose. I am also able to make suggestions. You will see the ceremony in advance to make sure it reflects what you want to say. Afterward, I will give you a keepsake copy of the ceremony and its tribute, knowing that this person will live on in your memory.
I am also available to help you create your own ceremony prior to your passing.
Soul Song Ceremonies LLC is inclusive; it is my joy and honor to serve BIPOC, LGBTQ+, people of all races, and military individuals and families.
